Coal Mine Methane Project Protocol Revision
Version 2.0
The protocol development process was divided into two phases: Version 1.0 of the protocol includes guidance for ventilation air methane projects and non-pipeline drainage projects. Version 2.0 will build upon Version 1.0 with the inclusion of drainage projects that send coal mine methane to pipeline.
Reserve staff are currently working with the workgroup on drafting Version 2.0. It is expected to be completed in 2010. This webpage will be updated regularly as the process moves forward.
Documents/Resources from Workgroup Meetings
To ensure that the protocol development process is transparent and open to as wide an audience as possible, the Reserve makes available to the general public additional documentation from the workgroup portion of protocol development as it occurs.

Workgroup
The Climate Action Reserve is working closely with a multi-stakeholder workgroup throughout the protocol development process. The workgroup includes industry representatives, federal agency personnel, NGOs, verifiers and expert consultants. This group of stakeholders will review and comment on this version of the protocol, and will help ensure that the Reserve produces a high quality GHG reduction protocol for coal mine methane reduction activities.
