General trainings follow various formats and are normally open to the public. Ongoing courses include the following webinars: “Overview of the Climate Action Reserve”, which is an introductory course on how and why our program operates; “Climate Action Reserve Program Training – Project Developers and Verifiers”, which is tailored toward assisting account holders to better understand reporting under the Reserve and the Reserve software; and a monthly “Special Topics Series” webinar on a special Reserve, carbon offset, cap-and-trade, or carbon market related topic.

Overview of the Climate Action Reserve
The “Overview of the Climate Action Reserve” training is a one-hour webinar designed for project developers, potential buyers, brokers and any member of the public with an interest in the Reserve. The presentation lasts approximately 45 minutes, allowing 15 minutes for Q&A. This webinar provides a general overview of the Reserve, including:
- How protocols are developed
- Current protocols and those in development
- The Reserve’s approach to calculating GHG reductions
- Opening an account
- Registering projects
Climate Action Reserve Program Training – Project Developers and Verifiers
The “Climate Action Reserve Program Training – Project Developers and Verifiers” webinar is a virtual training designed to help prepare account holders to more efficiently access and use the Reserve program and software. This 1.5 hour training session will cover the functions necessary to manage all project phases from “New” to “Registered” in the software, including how to:
- Submit new projects
- Revise project submittals
- Select a verification body
- Submit NOVA/COIs
- Enter project data
- Submit projects for verification
- Review project data
- Submit a verification statement and report
- Manage and pay invoices
- Manage CRTs
This webinar is free of charge to account holders, and non-account holders can attend for a $100 fee.
Special Topics Series
The Climate Action Reserve is proud to present the “Special Topics Series” of webinars. These informative sessions occur during the third week of each month. The Reserve’s monthly “Special Topics Series” webinars feature a special Reserve, carbon offset, carbon market, or cap-and-trade related topic and usually include guest speakers. It is highly recommended that you first participate in the “Overview of the Climate Action Reserve” webinar (held during the first week of each month) prior to attending a “Special Topics Series” webinar. This webinar is free of charge.
Refund Policy: Cancellations to any Climate Action Reserve training must be made in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org a minimum of two weeks prior to the training start date. Cancellations will receive a 50% refund of the registration fee. Refunds will be issued within 30 business days after the training concludes. Cancellation requests received after that point will NOT be refunded. The Climate Action Reserve will not make exceptions to this policy. Registrations can however, be transferred to another colleague, please submit any change requests in writing to email@example.com.
