The Climate Action Reserve, in association with the Border Environment Cooperation Council, California Environmental Protection Agency, National Institute of Ecology (Mexico), and the American Chamber of Commerce for Mexico City, is hosting a free workshop in Mexico City on August 4. This session will provide important information to stakeholders on opportunities to develop carbon offset projects in Mexico and generate credits to be traded in the U.S. carbon market. Translation services will be available for attendees, and the event will be broadcast as a webinar.

- Introduction to the Climate Action Reserve and opportunities for Mexico’s project developers
Mexico’s perspective on the North American carbon market - Collaboration with Mexico’s carbon fund (FOMECAR)
- Overview of existing Reserve protocols for livestock and landfill projects in Mexico
- Case study presentations of two projects in Mexico that are using Reserve protocols to access the U.S. carbon market
- Development of forestry protocols for Mexico
- Cooperation on forestry with the Mexican National Forestry Commission (CONAFOR)
