The Reserve is developing an Adipic Acid Production Project Protocol that will provide guidance on how to quantify, monitor, report, and verify nitrous oxide (N2O) emission reductions at adipic acid production facilities.
The protocol is expected to be presented to the Reserve Board of Directors in January 2020; see the protocol development timeline below.
Public Scoping Meeting
The Reserve hosted a public scoping meeting on September 17, 2019 to discuss this new project type. The presentation slides and meeting video are available below.
The Adipic Acid Production Project Protocol will be developed through the Reserve’s multi-stakeholder workgroup process. The Reserve will strive to create a well-balanced workgroup consisting of industry representatives, environmental NGOs, project developers, verification bodies, independent consultants, academia, and government bodies. Interested stakeholders are invited to apply to be part of the workgroup by filling out the Statement of Interest form below and submitting it to [email protected] by COB on Friday, September 20, 2019.
Stakeholders not chosen to be part of the workgroup are welcome to participate in the process as “observers.” Observers may attend workgroup meetings in listen-only mode, comment on the draft protocol when it is released for public comment, and attend the public webinar held during the public comment period.
