COP 24 Webinar: Advance Look at Subnational Action and Expectations for Katowice

November 29, 2018 | 10:30 am - 11:30 am PST Ongoing

The upcoming UNFCCC climate change conference, COP 24, is being hosted by Poland in Katowice from December 3-14. COP 24 will focus on the outcomes of the Talanoa Dialogues from COP 23 and is expected to finalize the rules for implementing the Paris Agreement. Very influential at this COP will be the strong presence and impact of subnational jurisdictions, a major force at COP 23, and the IPCC’s Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5 Degrees Celsius.

The Climate Registry and the Climate Action Reserve would like to invite you to join us as we explore these themes on a pre-COP webinar on Thursday, November 29 10:30 am – 11:30 am PT. The webinar will address messages US states are taking to COP, what they hope to bring home from the conference and an overview of expectations around COP 24.

Speakers:

  • Claudio Forner, Team Lead on Mitigation, UNFCCC Secretariat
  • Anukriti Hittle, Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Coordinator, State of Hawaii
  • Lauren Sanchez, International Policy Director, California Air Resources Board
  • Reed Schuler, Senior Policy Advisor for Climate and Sustainability to Governor Jay Inslee
